Position – Lead A&P Mechanic

Location: Great Falls, MT

We are currently seeking an experienced Lead A&P Mechanic for a contract opportunity supporting heavy aircraft maintenance in a commercial MRO environment. This role is ideal for experienced mechanics with strong leadership skills and extensive heavy maintenance experience on commercial or regional aircraft.

Summary

The Lead A&P Mechanic is responsible for leading maintenance teams while performing inspections, troubleshooting, repairs, modifications, and scheduled heavy maintenance. This position ensures maintenance activities are completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with FAA regulations and company quality standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead and support A&P mechanics during heavy maintenance activities
  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled aircraft maintenance
  • Troubleshoot aircraft systems and determine corrective actions
  • Remove, repair, install, and operationally check aircraft components
  • Perform inspections in accordance with FAA regulations and approved maintenance data
  • Read and interpret AMMs, IPCs, wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, and technical manuals
  • Coordinate daily work assignments to meet production schedules
  • Mentor and assist less experienced technicians
  • Ensure all maintenance documentation is completed accurately
  • Maintain compliance with FAA regulations, company procedures, and safety standards
  • Promote a safe, clean, and organized work environment
  • Other duties as assigned

Summary of Education, Experience & Certification

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License required
  • Minimum 5+ years of commercial aircraft maintenance experience required
  • Previous lead or supervisory experience preferred
  • Heavy maintenance/MRO experience required
  • Regional jet, commercial jet, or turboprop experience preferred
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of aircraft maintenance practices and FAA regulations
  • Experience performing heavy maintenance, inspections, and troubleshooting
  • Ability to read and interpret maintenance manuals, engineering drawings, and technical documentation
  • Strong leadership and team coordination skills
  • Experience working in an MRO or heavy maintenance environment
  • Ability to troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical aircraft systems
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Must provide own tools
  • Ability to work overtime and flexible schedules as required
  • Ability to lift, stand, climb ladders, and work in confined aircraft spaces
